+## Version Strategy
+
+We use the **latest Iceman/RRG firmware** for best feature support and bug fixes.
+
+### Current Features
+- Full SWIG Python bindings support
+- USB-CDC communication
+- All modern HF/LF protocols
+
+### Known Changes from v4.14831
+- `hw led` command removed - LED control now via different mechanism
+- Improved stability
+- Updated FPGA images
+
+## Device Identification
+
+Since `hw led` was removed in newer firmware, device identification uses
+alternative methods:
+- Device path enumeration (`/dev/ttyACM*`)
+- Serial number (when available)
+- `hw status` command output
+
